so much for being perfect (I'm prolly going to delete this when I get my brains back)
the perfect daughter
the perfect student
the perfect friend
the perfect girlfriend....even the perfect enemy.
sure, you perfect the act, but you evolve into the perfect monster.
see, after a while, you do all the great daugherly things, come first in class, don't spill your friend's secrets and you're every man's dream girlfriend
you would think that everyone would be happy with you? and sure they are, but the standards become so high and you can't keep up anymore.
You have to will yourself to keep up with the ever increasing standards... and you keep trying and trying and you're just not there yet.
maybe you'll never be.
Its not just enough to get an A anymore, you have to get the highest grade, and even if you get the highest grade, why didn't u get a perfect score?
you can't afford one slip up, you're doomed. at that one slip, all your perfect record is marred...forever.
some children have raised their voices at their parents countless times, but your silent "No" constitutes a rebellion.
and when you can't be there for a friend for her one birthday, you're a bad friend, the other people who only call on the birthday are better.
and you kissed a guy who's not your boyfriend? you're a slut!, those that slept with others, well, they only did it cos he cheated on them, its ok.
God forbid you miss church one day, heck! you're going straight to Hell!
you can never learn from your mistakes, cos you're not even supposed to make them to start with.
I want to tell my mom to shut up!
I want to fail an exam and not feel bad about it
I want to tell my pastor to mind his business
I want to have a one nigh random shag
I want to tell my friends to stop bothering me
I want to gain 25 pounds
I just want to be mediocre for once and not feel guilty about it...

I'm so mad right now....
Today I decided to cook moi-moi. I haven't made it in months, and so I was craving it.
I went to the grocery store yesterday, and bought all my ingredients, I even soaked the beans overnight.
This morning, I woke up and before i ate breakfast, I peeled the beans, and soaked it while I went to study.
If you know anything about cooking, you'll know that moi-moi takes a lot of time. almost 3 hours to make.
I did everything I usually do, infact it was an elemi-meje (7 lives), meaning 7 different kinds of condiments inside. I had crayfish, egg, cornbeef inside!
however I decided to try something different.
Instead of using my foil wraps, I decided to use paper cups like I saw someone do at a party I went for recently.
my mistake!
My two big pots of moi-moi, 16 wraps, all gone!
the cups split down the middle. wait for it- just at the time it was getting done!
I'm so freaking M-A-D!
16 wraps, 2 hours worth of work, down the drain.
I had planned to watch the presidential debate while sipping on garri with moi-moi on the side. I'm still going to go on as planned the new set should be ready in time.
Luckily, I didnt use all the beans I blended, so I was able to make some more with my good old dependable foil paper. I'm definitely not giving anybody out of this one!

Releasing your inner stripper...

this past weekend, I attended an exotic dance fitness class. The experience was beautiful to say the least.
About 25 women, ages ranging from 18 - 4o, together in one room with one goal in mind...I think.
All united in our efforts to perfect- or attempt- the booty clap, sexy push-up and the crazy cycling.
chest to the ground, booties in the air, legs held high in the air, we toned up those hamstrings, biceps, quadriceps and glut muscles.
....there was even cardio too!
Minutes later, we donned our high heels- stripper heels in some cases- and worked the chair while doing a sexy chair routine we learnt in 10 minutes.
I think those moves would come in useful for a lap dance.
We put all the moves we learnt to use... I never knew working out in heels could be so much fun...It felt great, but my inner thighs and abs are still burning!
I'm definitely going back again!... I think Fitness pole dance might be next...

Give me my blog back dammit!
This is a first for me, because I always have stuff dancing about in my head that I can't pick and choose from.
A lot of times I go through my previous posts and I've noticed a change in the direction of the posts.
I've said to myself that I won't write about school an write about other cool stuff, but truth is school is 95% of my time. If I'm not in school, I'm at home studying for an exam. Every other "fun" stuff I do is planned around this. And before you start thinking "efikko" or anything else, I just have to do this in order to stay afloat. Infact, I feel a whole lot less smarter than I have felt in years!
see, I've been used to not studying and doing so great. All through growing up, nobody ever said " Go read your books!". I even had a fight with one of my cousins who I was staying with in college back in Nigeria, for saying those words to me. Funny thing is that my dad backed me up. I'm used to studying the night before the test and getting the highest score. This is not to say that I never studied, but reading was fun for me, it wasn't a chore. I never had to schedule study time.
I've never had to work so hard and expect such mediocre results. I guess I believe that if I put in this much effort, I should be firmly sitting on top of the class. I should be averaging 90% and above, and not hovering around 81%.
Anyways, when I first started this blog, the purpose was to have an escape route from school. Somewhere to run to keep my sanity. Then, I didn't have this many readers. I didn't even know any blogger except exschoolnerd whom was instrumental in my moving to blogger.
I have discovered so many new blogs that I feel like I'm losing myself. I never used to worry about how many people read my blog, if I was first to comment on someone's blog, how many comments I got, whose blogs I read, how often I posted those type of things. I feel like you bloggers have invaded my "home" and I'm becoming "changed". I feel like my posts no longer have the kind of spontaneity that they used to. My posts might appeal to a lot more readers but they no longer appeal to me.
I really truly appreciate you guys. you have no idea! I really love reading your comments and I actually look forward to them. I take little breaks to read your posts and I follow the events of your lives through your blogs. I just feel like you guys have hijacked my blog from me. gimme my blog back dammit! its mine!!!
Its kind of like being on a reality show because of some characteristics that you have, and then the reality show ends up changing you. You still have your fans but you gradually stop becoming a fan of yourself. There has to be some happy medium somewhere and I'm going to find it.
*now that i got that out of the way*
1. I narrowly escaped being killed in my own house - ok, maybe not killed but injured
2. I'm decorating! I think I've watched too much style tv and HGTV. I might post pictures on my style blog later. email me for an invite if you live in Nigeria or UK and want to see
I'l blog about these later

spinoff of What's in a Name III?
Among some of the comments I got from my last post, there were two very striking ones:

and these comments got me thinking: what exactly is my blog personality like. what do my readers think of when they read my blog? What kind of a person do you think I am? Actually what blog personality are they (naijalines and sting) talking about?
so pipo, help a sister out:
what exactly is my blog personality?

What's in a Name III
So most people would have realized by now the name change. I'm not really feeling the bumight name anymore. I like Bumtight. I don't know why some people are complaining, because when I had it as bumight, a lot of people thought it was bumtight.
so does this mean I have a tight bum? of course I do! a cute tight one, you should see it, lol!, but that's not the reasaon for the name change.
My blogging frequency is about to take a major nose dive. I don't spend a lot of time blog-hopping anymore since I got google reader, but I will be preparing to write my boards in a few months (real scary sturves) and I'm beginning to think spending so much time on blogger is not a great idea.
don't worry, I'm not leaving cos I'll still write, I'll also read your blogs between study breaks. I read all your blogs by the way, even if I don't comment as often.
so Bumight or Bumtight?
feel free to vote on the left panel this time.
PS: I initially wrote this post in ink, just to spite Vera, but at the last minute, I changed my mind and typed it out. she's scary, you know!
